SMLXL created the naming and label design for Salut!, a new wine from 9+ Wines inspired by the Catalan expression for toasting. The project celebrates joy and simplicity, reflecting the wine’s easy-drinking and approachable character.
SMLXL, a Barcelona and New York-based studio, designed playful packaging for a collaboration between Midnight Cosmetics and pet brand HotDog. The project merges Midnight’s minimalist aesthetic with HotDog’s exuberant energy through gouache-painted illustrations of dogs in motion. The result is a vibrant, tactile design that communicates the product’s softness and joy while showcasing SMLXL’s conceptual approach to design.
SMLXL designed the packaging for D’Arbequina olive oil from Els Batallosos farm in Catalonia, wrapping each of 280 limited-edition bottles in unique black-and-white trail camera photos of local deer. The design replaces traditional luxury cues with raw, documentary-style imagery that connects the product directly to its natural environment.
