D1S1 Design Spotlight is an independent, curated index of work from design studios around the world. It brings new projects, studio information, client histories, design writing and open roles into one place.

The aim is simple: help designers find useful references, understand who made the work and follow what is changing across the industry—without scrolling through a general-purpose social feed.

D1S1 is made by Anton at Partdirector in Matosinhos, Portugal.

Monitoring plus curation

D1S1 checks the public portfolios of selected studios for new work. Automation finds possible additions; editorial review decides what appears on the main feed. Quality and usefulness matter more than volume.

The studio remains the source

D1S1 is an index, not a portfolio host. Case pages credit the studio and link to the original project. Images and project information remain the property of their respective owners. Studios can help their work travel accurately by following the case-study publishing guide.

Useful metadata, with provenance

Work types, industries and editorial tags make the archive browsable. Colour groups are derived from case imagery. Typeface credits are indexed only when a studio or a reliable editorial source names the typeface; D1S1 does not guess fonts from images.
