Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the site owners. This policy explains which cookies D1S1 Design Spotlight uses and why.
2. Cookies We Use
D1S1 uses a minimal number of cookies, each serving a specific purpose:
Essential: Authentication
When you sign in with Google OAuth, we store a google_token cookie containing your encrypted authentication token. This cookie is necessary for the service to recognize you as a logged-in user and provide access to your account, collections, and subscription features. Without this cookie, you would need to sign in on every page visit.
Analytics: Fathom
We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies for tracking. Fathom is GDPR-compliant by design and does not collect personal data. It does not track individual users across sessions, does not use fingerprinting, and does not share data with third parties. Fathom may use a cookie-free approach or a minimal first-party cookie solely for aggregate analytics, never for identifying individual visitors.
Payments: Stripe
When you access Stripe checkout or the billing portal to manage your subscription, Stripe may set cookies on your device. These cookies are necessary for payment processing, fraud prevention, and security. Stripe's cookie usage is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Preferences: Theme
We use localStorage (not a cookie) to remember your theme preference. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
3. How to Control Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Please note that if you block or delete the authentication cookie, you will be signed out and will need to sign in again to access account features.
4. Third-Party Cookies
D1S1 aims to minimize third-party cookies. The only third-party service that may set cookies is Stripe, which is used exclusively for payment processing. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party tracking technologies.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
