Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
The short version
D1S1 does not use advertising cookies. Fathom Analytics measures aggregate traffic without cookies. D1S1 sets a first-party cookie when you sign in and a small preference cookie when you dismiss the cookie notice. Google and Stripe may use their own cookies when you interact with their services.
Cookies set by D1S1
google_token — sign-in
Set after you sign in with Google. It contains a signed Google ID token that lets D1S1 verify your session and load account, collection and subscription features. It is a secure, same-site session cookie. Deleting it signs you out.
designSpotlightCookieConsent — notice preference
Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so it is not shown on every visit. It does not track browsing activity.
Third-party services
Fathom Analytics
Fathom does not set cookies or follow individual visitors across sites. D1S1 uses it for aggregate page views and product events. Fathom briefly processes network and browser information to create those statistics.
Google Sign-In
Google may use cookies or browser account features on its own domains when you open the sign-in flow. Google's handling of that data is governed by its privacy terms.
Stripe
Checkout and subscription management open on Stripe. Stripe may set cookies and use similar technologies for payment processing, security and fraud prevention. See Stripe's Cookie Policy ↗.
Browser storage that is not a cookie
- Theme preference: remembers light, dark or system appearance.
- Saved-case cache: makes save indicators respond quickly for signed-in users.
- Session display preferences: remember temporary dismissals, such as the mobile call-to-action, until the tab session ends.
This information stays in your browser until the relevant item expires or you clear site data. Cached account information is refreshed from the server.
Your controls
Browser settings let you view, block or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking the D1S1 sign-in cookie prevents account features from working. Basic public browsing remains available.
