Zoo created the art direction for J'aime le Centre Pompidou, a 100-page, 15 × 21 cm publication for Centre Pompidou’s 40th anniversary. The book examines the architectural facets of the institution, described as a “grand urban toy” created by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers.
Zoo designed the art direction and editorial design for the Centre Pompidou catalogue accompanying its spring 2022 Giorgio Griffa exhibition. Developed in close collaboration with exhibition curator Christine Macel, the catalogue presents eighteen works donated by the Italian abstraction artist to the museum. The design was intended to reflect Griffa’s radical and sensitive body of work.
Zoo created a global visual identity for Centre Pompidou after winning an international redesign competition. The work included art direction, visual identity, a graphic charter, campaign assets, and print and digital applications. Zoo designed the exclusive CP Family typeface as a contemporary reinterpretation of the Centre Pompidou’s typographic history, incorporating references to the building’s iconic pipes, modular structures, and monumental yet playful silhouette.
Base Design’s Brussels studio created a dynamic and flexible brand identity for Kanal, a new museum of modern and contemporary art and architecture opening in Brussels. The identity uses a custom variable typeface, Kanal Edge, and an open duotone colour system to reflect the institution’s evolving, participatory ethos. The project balances experimental, zine-like energy with a robust strategic framework that unifies its many cultural strands.
