This edition of The Edit highlights five projects from NEW LETTERS, McCarthy, Lex & Turner, SOMETHING ELSE and HUGMUN. The featured work spans a conceptual Tarot-inspired display typeface, event-venue rebrand, retro sunscreen packaging, coffee-roaster rebrand and a radio station visual-communications system.
Christchurch studio McCarthy redesigned the identity for All Right?, a New Zealand mental-health awareness campaigner that has grown from a local initiative into part of the national conversation. The flexible, inclusive identity combines the hand-rendered Mindset typeface with Moderat and a rigorously tested 20-colour palette, extending across campaigns, print, web, photography, motion and illustration.
Christchurch-based studio McCarthy developed a new identity system for the Arts Foundation of New Zealand, retaining its original calligraphic logo by Sarah Maxey while introducing a refined typographic and color system. The rebrand emphasizes the concept of 'making your mark,' balancing simplicity and flexibility across sub-brands and campaigns such as 'Art Is:'.
