Visual identity and wayfinding for Bulgakov Museum

Tuman developed a flexible graphic system for Bulgakov Museum’s new space at 35A Bolshaya Pirogovskaya, translating the writer’s evolving creative path into a three-part format grid that mirrors the corridor, office, and room. An austere typographic palette and dense setting enable text to flow across a non-standard grid, creating rhythm and movement while accommodating layered narratives from Bulgakov’s prose. The concept extends to a comprehensive wayfinding program, with graphic elements in headings and quotations that amplify communication, and to the layout of wall texts and labels for the permanent and regular exhibitions. Tuman also designed souvenir and printed materials to unify touchpoints, ensuring continuity across the museum’s interior and exhibitions. The result is a dynamic, modular system that adapts over time while maintaining clarity.
