Exhibition Graphics and Campaign for Es Devlin Retrospective
Pentagram turns the threshold into an invitation to enter Es Devlin’s imagination.
Pentagram created exhibition graphics, marketing, signage, animation and film for Es Devlin: Other Worlds at the Design Museum London. The visual system uses thresholds as a metaphor for entering Devlin’s imagination, with a signature red drawn from her monograph and Es Allianz typeface.
Set in Es Allianz
Insights- Marina Willer and Pentagram created marketing, film and exhibition graphics for Es Devlin: Other Worlds at London’s Design Museum.
- Thresholds give the communications a recurring spatial idea: an invitation to enter the artist’s imagined worlds.
- The red comes from the cover of An Atlas of Es Devlin, extending a recognisable colour from the monograph into the exhibition identity.
- Es Allianz provides the restrained typographic foundation. Devlin wanted a typeface close to the world of Helvetica, leaving her imaginative work to carry the expression.
