Brand identity and packaging for a woman-founded raicilla brand

Menta created the brand identity, packaging, collateral, and social media kit for Monte Marea, a raicilla brand rooted in the Sierra Madre and Jalisco Coast. The project honors the ancestral knowledge of maestras and maestros raicilleras and the spirit of agave. Menta designed a logo inspired by traditional cantina and taberna signage in Mexico, using intentionally naïve letter proportions. The symbol of an eye within an agave expresses the plant’s consciousness and ties together the mountains and sea central to raicilla’s origin. Supporting patterns bring regional pollinators to life, including a hummingbird and a bat with the moon. An earth-inspired palette and refined packaging balance authenticity, sophistication, and femininity as a tribute to the brand’s founders.
