Brand Identity for Rakbank
A bank’s human touch becomes a typographic behavior.
Koto repositioned UAE bank Rakbank around the idea of offering the “Best of both”: digital convenience alongside human service. The work included a refined logo, bilingual typography system, banking cards, branch signage, digital components, and a multichannel launch campaign.
Insights- Koto refined the existing mark using dhow-sail shapes and movement, coordinating the symbol with Latin and Arabic wordmarks.
- The typographic system pairs handwriting with a digital counterpart; Koto describes coded glyph variation when characters repeat within a word.
- A brighter version of the established red updates recognition while retaining a familiar brand asset.
- A masterbrand structure aligns different banking businesses. Eleven card designs translate that structure into a coherent physical portfolio.
- The app component library links brand expression with interface production. It supports implementation rather than establishing that Koto alone designed the released app.
