Editorial Design for 032c Eros Summer 2026

A 1962 magazine that ended in an obscenity conviction — reborn as a catalogue of objects.

Bureau Borsche designed EROS, a special magazine included with the 49th issue of 032c. The publication presents a curated selection of objects of desire and pays homage to the 1962 magazine Eros by Ralph Ginzburg and Herb Lubalin, blending contemporary aesthetics with historical reference.

Insights

The core twist is that 032c’s EROS pays homage to the 1962 magazine Eros by Ralph Ginzburg and Herb Lubalin, but shifts the subject from literary-erotic content to a curated selection of “objects of desire.”
Bureau Borsche frames it as “a special new magazine included with the latest issue of 032c,” and magCulture calls it an “eponymous homage” showcasing “exquisite objects old and new.”
EROS is a 48-page magazine bound into 032c issue 49 for Summer 2026, making it a supplement rather than a standalone title.
The historical reference is loaded: the original Eros had a short life and ended with Ralph Ginzburg’s federal obscenity conviction, which gives the homage extra edge.
This project appears alongside Mirko Borsche’s full redesign of 032c for the same issue, but no supplement-specific typographic or production details have been published.
