
Vista created the concept, research, text, editorial design, and image reproductions for “Design Pioneers. The Invention of Graphic Modernism” for Callisto Publishers. The lavishly produced book chronicles the rise of graphic design in Germany from the late Empire to the start of the Second World War, covering major figures and breakthroughs including corporate identity, object posters, New Typography, and photomontage. Developed in both German and English, the volume includes more than 1,000 illustrations and was printed in five colours to reproduce historic works at high quality. The book design draws on historical references while using contemporary typography to give the publication a modern feel.
