Brand Identity for a Western-Inspired Fashion Line

Why make Western fashion feel luxurious, not costume?

WØRKS developed the brand identity for Austin Post, Post Malone’s fashion line that fuses American Western heritage with modern sophistication. The visual system balances handcrafted imperfection with refined luxury, using neutral tones and a signature Cadmium Red accent to evoke both craftsmanship and contemporary precision.

Insights

The core idea was the tension between frontier grit and refined luxury: WØRKS says the identity is “timeless yet current, handcrafted yet composed, and intimate yet built for scale.” It reinterprets American West visual codes through modern luxury instead of leaning on cowboy pastiche.
The system uses hand-drawn logo marks with the irregularities preserved, so the human hand stays visible. Typography sits between workwear lettering and editorial restraint, using Stringer and Helvetica Now Display.
The palette is mostly neutral with a single Cadmium Red accent, explicitly tied to Donald Judd’s desert sculptures. That red becomes the signature visual punch against the otherwise understated system.
A stitched motif derived from the stacked wordmark was translated into physical construction details, visibly securing tags and hardware. The identity therefore appears not just in graphics, but in the clothing’s making itself.
Brand context from the launch helps frame the aesthetic: the label debuted with the “First Light” runway show in Paris, then released The Permanent Collection in October 2025, featuring Japanese broken-twill denim, heavy brushed-back fleece, cotton jersey, whipstitch detailing, and a hidden guitar-pick pocket.
