Studio.Build

Studio.Build is a creative studio founded in 2001 by Michael C. Place and Nicola Place. Based in a former textile mill in Otley, near Leeds, the team explores the relationship between design, art, and strategic thinking. Its work centers on robust identity systems and custom typography, supported by strategy, naming, verbal identity, copywriting, animation, websites, and print production. The studio works with established organizations and emerging businesses, developing narratives and visual systems through close collaboration. Its portfolio includes architecture, cultural institutions, property, craft, and creative businesses.
