Logotype Design For A Prominent Finnish Magazine

Schick Toikka was commissioned to create a new logotype for Suomen Kuvalehti, one of Finland's largest weekly magazines. The redesign drew inspiration from the magazine's historical roots, particularly the hand-drawn word marks from the 1920s to 1940s. In addition to the new logotype, a custom typeface with reduced contrast and generous spacing was developed, which features a Display variation and a Deck version for headlines. The project also included the redrawing of the magazine's iconic lion emblem, ensuring that the design honors its legacy while providing a fresh look suitable for contemporary audiences.
