CACHe’s “Manhole Covers” exhibition explored the hidden stories embedded in Hong Kong’s everyday street infrastructure. The project aimed to reveal information contained in manhole covers, including the history of local iron foundries, the work of craftsmen and operatives, the making of a manhole cover, and the development of the city’s public works. Through exhibition design, identity, motion, and print, the studio helped present overlooked urban artifacts as a gateway into a lesser-known chapter of Hong Kong’s heritage.
