M — N Associates rebranded Guta Cafe by transforming the iconic Vietnamese plastic chair into the core symbol of the brand. Drawing from Saigon’s street coffee culture, the studio built a flexible graphic system around the chair, everyday street rituals, and local behaviors. The project included a blue-and-yellow palette inspired by Vietnamese propaganda posters, halftone newspaper textures, a custom typeface with Vietnamese diacritics, iconography, menu design, uniforms, and branded merchandise. M — N Associates created a scalable identity system that could extend across sub-brands while preserving consistency. The result expresses Guta Cafe’s affordable, familiar, and distinctly urban character, celebrating the rhythms of Vietnamese street life and positioning the brand as a friendly, accessible coffee chain for city dwellers.
