Generative Video Installation For The Venice Architecture Biennale
Com’è bello far l’amore da Trieste in giù is a real-time generative video installation by Giga, created with Fosbury Architecture, Alterazioni Video and Fantamagico for the Italian Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale. The piece acts as an artificial stream of consciousness that continuously links the pavilion’s nine collaborative projects. Drawing on a curated data archive, the system procedurally composes scenes through a balance of logic and randomness, combining audiovisual fragments into dynamic collages and overlaying them with text excerpts selected by the curators. Each time a new association emerges, the scene dissolves and is rebuilt. Source footage was manually tagged by multiple individuals, producing a layered, subjective taxonomy that enables associations that both harmonize and clash, adding conceptual depth to the evolving narrative.
