Photographer Mattia Balsamini presents a collection of robotics photographs that avoids depicting machines as simply threatening or charming. Drawing on his childhood around industrial machinery and his access to laboratories, factories and research institutions, he uses evocative portraits of mechas and robot dogs to foreground the human labour, uncertainty and moral complexity behind technology.
