Architectural Design For Refuge De Barroude

Snøhetta designed the new Refuge de Barroude, a sustainable mountain shelter in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, following the destruction of the original refuge by fire. The project balances integration with the natural landscape and visibility as a landmark, using local materials and bioclimatic principles to minimize environmental impact while providing a safe haven for hikers and park staff.
