Typeface design for an innovative type foundry

Schick Toikka worked on the creation of Lyyra, a typeface that juxtaposes organic and mechanical aesthetics. This innovative design draws from various historical references while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary usage. Notable for its unique counters and angular features, Lyyra offers an alternating rhythm that contrasts with precision-cut stroke endings, resulting in a modern yet timeless expression. Suitable for editorial design and identity work, Lyyra's various styles, including Extended and Expanded, provide versatile options for a range of applications. Its recognizable forms, high-waisted capitals, and bold strokes make it an excellent choice for impactful display use, enhancing both visual communication and brand identity.
