Art Direction for a Microtonal Contemporary Opera

Designer and art director Laura Knoops created communication tools, art direction, and live video for Love & Hydrogen, a microtonal contemporary opera by Planetenexport. Based on a novel by Jim Shepard and composed by Jeffrey Arlo Brown, the work was presented in Berlin in late July 2014. The composition uses moving tones and the Doppler effect as principles shaping its harmony, pulse, and timbre.
