Launch campaign for Dyson haircare technology
Found made invisible airflow carry the story.
Found collaborated with Dyson and Beta Productions to create a launch campaign for a new haircare range. The project translated complex engineering into elegant moving-image storytelling, combining live-action footage with 3D motion to reveal the hidden technology behind the products. Found used precise composition, camera work, lighting, and motion to connect sculpted hair forms with the tools that shape them. The campaign highlighted the V9 motor through dramatic macro-to-wide transitions and visualised invisible airflow using fluid and cloth simulation to illustrate the Coanda effect. Technical drawings and patent references were also transformed into expressive motion moments, helping present Dyson’s innovation as both scientifically advanced and visually refined.
Insights
- The film changes scale to make engineering dramatic. Dyson's tiny V9 motor first fills the frame like a monumental machine, then recedes until its actual size becomes the reveal.
- Cloth and translucent material give the Coanda effect a visible body. The simulation explains how curved airflow attracts hair while remaining soft enough to belong in a beauty campaign.
- Live action and CG share the same camera logic, lighting and sculptural treatment. That continuity keeps the technical passages from feeling like cutaway diagrams inserted between product shots.
- The database title is narrower than Found's own account of the work. This is a campaign for a haircare range, so the motor, airflow and Coanda sequences should be read as a connected Dyson story rather than features of Supersonic alone.
