In their own words
We often found that combining a more conventional or neutral typeface with a more expressive display typeface created a nice contrast, both in form and tone.
We were also keen to get away from our desks and have conversations about finishes, stocks and inks.
Creativity tends to be at its best when it's collaborative.
Although Artnet had invested in a brand identity as recently as 2019, the existing system had become challenging for the internal team to use effectively.
Our goal was to strike a balance between the worlds of art and luxury, bringing a more dynamic and approachable energy to the brand.
The grid system was developed to accommodate the wide variety of artworks and imagery Artnet showcases, allowing them to stand on their own.
The team at Bob Industries are proud of their efforts to be inclusive and far-reaching when choosing their directors, and wanted to reflect these values in their new identity.
Baikal had all the elements we wanted from a typeface – a large set of weights, from condensed or extended (and anything in between), each of which looked great.
