I wanted the brand concept to emerge intuitively, mirroring the way Homeward trusts its own intuition to select works for publication.
We aimed for a balance between technical precision and a charming, slightly awkward character.
Emma Kaniuk & Company led a comprehensive rebrand for Audax Biosciences, transforming the biotech firm’s identity from oNKo-innate into a bold, differentiated brand. The project encompassed naming, strategy, visual identity, and website design, featuring custom 3D biological forms, a distinctive 'x' logo, and a fluorescent lab-inspired palette. Collaborating with a global team of specialists, the rebrand rejects biotech uniformity in favor of a human, creative, and scientifically grounded aesthetic.
The Brand Identity features Emma Kaniuk & Company’s brand identity for Homeward Books, a small press dedicated to unconventional literature. Inspired by the hermit crab as a metaphor for ‘books without a home,’ the identity combines illustration, 3D design, and adaptable typography to express creativity and resilience. Collaborations with international illustrators and type foundries helped create a flexible, evolving visual system that has already elevated Homeward’s industry presence.
The Brand Identity’s biweekly roundup ‘The Edit’ highlights five creative projects, including Emma Kaniuk’s campaign for Show Me Shorts Film Festival, FAENA’s identity for Arrebatos pâté, Studio Dolphins’ packaging for Scarlet Quinn liqueur, a humorous sticker initiative by Sarah Lisgo and Agatha O’Neill targeting Lime bikes, and Together’s rebrand for MOMA. Each project showcases distinct design approaches, from bold typographic campaigns to artisanal packaging and playful community-driven design.
