We didn’t want to just make something that looked cool next to the product. We wanted the visual system to describe what the products do.
You can signal technical proficiency while still being warm and inviting.
The principle is that you control the brand’s presence by adjusting how many layers you use, how much colour and how complex the compositions get.
Instead of hiding the process, we leaned into it. You’ll see pathways forming, shapes in flux, diagrams that never really settle. That’s where the energy is.
We kept the actual ASCII typography as Alte Haas Grotesk for its ability to look good while condensed down and spaced out as needed.
There’s something about this blue that feels academic, technical and warm at the same time.
Vancouver-based studio HEX developed a modular, geometric identity system for Grafana that visualises its extensive product ecosystem. Using bold blocks, vibrant colours and adaptable density, the design balances technical precision with community warmth. The system flexes across digital, motion and event applications, reflecting Grafana’s open-source ethos and enterprise scalability.
Experimental studio HEX created a new brand identity for AI creative platform Fuser, focusing on the visible process of creation rather than polished outcomes. The identity uses an emboss motif to convey physicality and modularity, supported by the Marund typeface and a flexible motion system. The result celebrates iteration, connection, and the human side of AI creativity.
HEX developed a typographic and motion identity system for Maple’s voice AI research division, using ASCII-based animation to visualize sound and voice data. The project employs Alte Haas Grotesk and a striking International Klein Blue palette to balance technical sophistication with warmth and accessibility. The result is a dynamic, data-driven identity that reflects Maple’s innovative approach to AI and human interaction.
