DNCO developed a new place brand for Harwell, positioning it as the UK’s capital for science and innovation. Rooted in the concept of exponential growth, the identity uses a mathematical ‘caret’ symbol, vibrant color palette, and modular grid system to express the campus’s dynamic energy and global ambition.
DNCO partnered with Brookfield to create a global place brand for Advanced Research Clusters (ARC), a network of science campuses built on the power of clustering. The identity uses mathematical graph theory and binary patterns to express interconnectedness and individuality across each campus, positioning ARC as a collaborative community for innovation rather than a traditional landlord.
DNCO created a place brand for Pier 70, a historic San Francisco shipyard being transformed into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. The identity celebrates the city’s creativity, openness, and connection to the Bay, using bold colors and industrial-inspired forms that honor its working past.
DNCO developed an industrial yet refined wayfinding system for Building 12, a revitalized shipbuilding facility at San Francisco’s Pier 70. The modular signage design, inspired by the site’s steelworking heritage, uses riveted metal plates and perforated rails to create a flexible system that integrates seamlessly with the building’s architecture.
