Atkinson Hyperlegible is a neo-grotesque sans-serif typeface created in collaboration with the Braille Institute of America to enhance legibility for readers with low vision. The design introduces distinctive and unambiguous letterforms that improve character recognition and reading comprehension, while maintaining a classic typographic foundation.
Applied developed a new brand positioning and visual identity for the Braille Institute of America, a century-old organization supporting people with vision impairment. The project included the creation of the award-winning Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface, designed to improve legibility for low-vision readers and reflect the institute’s inclusive mission.
