The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has unveiled a refreshed brand identity by London studio Johnson Banks, marking its first major update in over 25 years. The rebrand modernises RIBA’s image while preserving its heritage, reinstating its historic red and refining its crest. The new identity supports RIBA’s House of Architecture initiative and aims to make the institution more accessible and digitally relevant ahead of its bicentenary.

The project documents Mies van der Rohe’s unbuilt Mansion House Square through restored archival materials, combining book design with objects like a door handle and ashtray. The piece explores the book’s materiality, editorial narrative, and its reflection on authorship and modernist legacy.
