We chose to use uppercase letters for the logo because they convey a sense of elegance and formality while also offering practical advantages in terms of readability.
White was an obvious choice for us, and it created a perfect balance with the blood red/Pompeian pink colour, which not only defines the brand but also reflects the gallery’s interior.
The more trust, the better the project.
Having a small, close-knit group is our strength.
If someone is a specialist in something, it’s really worth seeking their help.
We wanted to create a logo for Mortar&Brick that feels strong and minimalist, while maintaining an element of frivolity via the expressive ampersand.
The ampersand adds a flexibility to something very firm; we created three options for using it, giving a broad range of possibilities when using it across different brand materials.
We chose Dazzed for the main typography in brand materials because it's practical and unique at the same time.
The soft beige is calm but firm; it has connotations of a safe space, home, interiors, something nice and soothing.

The design features custom typography, tactile packaging, and a monochromatic palette that reflects McDonie’s avant-garde artistry. Copenhagen-based studio Hugmun designed a new brand identity for property consultants Mortar&Brick, centered on a semi-calligraphic wordmark that balances script and sans serif elements. The identity uses Displaay’s Dazzed typeface, a warm palette of beige and red, and a flexible ampersand to reflect the brand’s integrity and creativity.
