The logo, featuring two facing heads, symbolises both the history and future of Purkarthofer Eis.
The goal is for people to feel as if they could have doodled them on the corner of an ice cream napkin — authentic, fun, and carefree!
Graz-based studio RAWTY has rebranded Austrian ice cream company Purkarthofer Eis with a playful, sustainability-focused identity. The new design blends nostalgia and modernity through hand-drawn illustrations, regional humour, and typefaces that reference the brand’s heritage. The project celebrates community, sustainability, and the joy of ice cream through a colourful and authentic visual language.
The Brand Identity interviews Graz-based design studio RAWTY, founded by Tessa Sophie Huber, Sophia Stöhr, and Christian Leban, about their mission to use design for positive socio-ecological impact. The trio discuss their decision to form the studio, their philosophy of responsibility and sustainability, and the creation of their own branding that reflects the rawness of nature through variable typography and motion. They also share insights into their work culture, values, and recent projects promoting environmental and social good.
