In their own words
The hyphen redundant.
Worked well in both bold and strong usage for the logo.
J E CAI came up with the reference point, for him, it’s the idea to create a system that builds upon itself.
The body text was developed to have a unique monospaced font that works well within the technical environment.
This was also something J E CAI had as a wish, but it also makes sense in this world of uniformity, it can be seen as a neutral ground from which the individual elements can develop.
I just wanted to know what I’m working for.
It is very important to us that everyone is an equal part of the studio.

- Daily Dialogue Creates Coded J E CAI Identity Exploring Order and Chaos
Munich-based creative consultancy Daily Dialogue created a systematic identity for London fashion designer J E CAI. Referencing Charles and Ray Eames' 1977 documentary Powers of Ten, the work uses tenfold sequential typographic codes, custom lettering and a monospaced text family to explore tension between order and chaos. A soft-grey and monochrome palette supports the brand's technical, uniform visual world.
