In their own words
We didn’t need to force a cultural connection between Chiang Mai and Mérida. She was, quite possibly, one of the best clients we have worked with.
We approached the process playfully, experimenting with different poses until the character began to take shape.
We selected Consort to have this kind of timeless and strong personality.
It is a typeface that feels classic but not old.
We selected Coign just to have contrast in the label design; we don’t consider it that relevant or indispensable for the branding.
We chose green because of agave and Mexico’s flag, whilst terracotta represents the ‘tierra roja’ characteristic of Mexican soil.
The Mezcal market right now has a lot of pretentiousness, and Ancestro’s intention is to move away from that. We wanted a simple, minimal and pure brand.
