Bruce Mau Design created the signage, environmental graphics, wayfinding strategy, information hierarchies, and donor-recognition system for the REACH expansion of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Working with Steven Holl Architects, the studio developed campus-wide nomenclature and signage for the three-pavilion extension. The signs pair stainless and blackened steel with wood and concrete, using extruded letterforms that respond to changing daylight; donor recognition ranges from individual-space acknowledgments to large-scale installations.
