Klim designed Hokotohu in 2007 for Hokotehi Moriori Trust, working with DNA and designer Charlie Ward. The typeface draws on Rākau Momori, carvings made by Moriori in living kōpi trees. Its distinctive serif forms translate those references into a custom typographic identity.
